Employment Opportunities
Career opportunities with the FBI include the Special Agent position and numerous Professional Support positions. To qualify for any FBI position, you must be a U.S. citizen and successfully pass a polygraph examination, urinalysis, and a rigorous background investigation. The Special Agent position and most Professional Support positions require at least a bachelor's degree in a specified field of study.

FBI Honors Internship Program
Each summer, a special group of outstanding undergraduate and graduate students are selected to participate in the FBI Honors Internship Program in Washington, D.C., or at a Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL) located throughout the US (www.rcfl.gov). Candidates for this internship must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and must be attending a college or university that is accredited by one of the regional or national institutional associations recognized by the United States Secretary of Education. Undergraduates must be in their junior or senior year. The application process is laborious and highly competitive but the program is an extremely rewarding experience. The FBI Birmingham Division recruits for this position in August and September of each year and the interns are selected in December. Completed applications, with all required supportive documents, must be received no later than September 30, 2009 to be considered for the Summer of 2010.
