FBI ARRESTS TWO INDIVIDUALS IN CONNECTION WITH ALABAMA FIRE COLLEGE INVESTIGATION

Birmingham – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Carmen S. Adams announced that

DORIS GAIL PHILLIPS, also known as (aka) GAIL PHILLIPS, 58 and MELINDA PHILLIPS SEXTON, aka MINDY SEXTON, 31, were arrested today without incident on two counts of theft or bribery concerning a program receiving federal funds and one count of conspiracy to commit theft concerning a program receiving federal funds. These arrests were in connection with the ongoing Alabama Fire College investigation.

“Those who steal taxpayer dollars to line their pockets should expect to be held accountable,” stated SAC Adams.

PHILLIPS and SEXTON will have their initial appearance before a Federal Magistrate Judge sometime this afternoon. The investigation in ongoing.
