FBI VIOLENT CRIMES TASK FORCE ARRESTS NEW YORK WOMAN ON KIDNAPPING CHARGES

Birmingham – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Carmen S. Adams announced that TIANA JAMES, 22 was arrested without incident at approximately 12:20a.m. this morning at the Eastwood Motel, 1813 Crestwood Blvd., Birmingham, Alabama by members of the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force. JAMES was arrested on a kidnapping arrest warrant issued in the Eastern District of New York. A five year old girl was found with JAMES unharmed. JAMES is the natural parent of the child, however, had lost her parental and custodial rights to the child, therefore, resulting in a kidnapping charge. Upon her arrest, JAMES was taken to the Jefferson County jail for processing. She will make her initial appearance before a federal judge this morning. The child was given over to the custody of the Department of Human Resources.
