FBI ARRESTS CUBA, ALABAMA MAN FOR SUMTER COUNTY CREDIT UNION ROBBERY

Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Carmen S. Adams announced that
Diondus Dewarren Burton, 24, of Cuba, Alabama was arrested this morning without incident by agents of the Tuscaloosa Resident Agency of the FBI. A second subject, Vincent Dewayne Lawrence, 26, was arrested yesterday by FBI Atlanta also in connection with this case.

Burton was arrested based on a bank robbery warrant issued by Chief Magistrate Judge Paul W. Greene, charging him with the armed robbery of the Sumter County Credit Union on December 15, 2006.

Lawrence is being held in Atlanta, Georgia and Burton was transported to Birmingham, Alabama where he is being held.

SAC Adams expressed her appreciation to the Livingston Police Department, the Sumter County Sheriffs Office and FBI Atlanta for their assistance in this matter.
