FBI SAFE STREETS TASK FORCE ARRESTS
BIRMINGHAM MAN FOR JULY CAR-JACKING
Birmingham – Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Carmen S. Adams announced that
Terrence Prince, 21, of Birmingham, Alabama was arrested without incident today at approximately 1:15 p.m. at his residence located at 4709 12 th Avenue North, Birmingham, AL, by members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
Prince was indicted on September 25, 2007, on charges of armed car-jacking. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of July 23, 2007, Prince car-jacked a male, forcing the victim into their own car. They then drove to a Regions Bank in Ensley where an unsuccessful attempt to withdraw money from the victims account took place. The victim was later dropped off on I-65 and told to run. The victim heard shots fired behind him.
Prince made his initial appearance before a U.S. Magistrate Judge at approximately 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.
The FBI Safe Streets Task Force is comprised of FBI Agents and Birmingham Police officers who work side by side on a daily basis to combat violent crime in Birmingham and surrounding areas.
SAC Adams thanked the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Police Department for their invaluable assistance in this matter.
